At Blindspot Express, we provide free, reliable rides for those who need a little extra support. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a critical treatment, our friendly volunteers are here to make sure you or your loved ones reach the clinic or hospital with care and dignity. My Mission
Blindspot Express was founded to break down transportation barriers for people with visual impairments. I believe everyone deserves access to healthcare, community, and opportunities regardless of their ability to drive or navigate public transit. Every ride I provide is a step toward greater independence and better health for our friends.
My Story
Blindspot Express began with a simple dream. As someone who is visually impaired, I’ve faced many daily challenges. Over time, I realized that others in my community were dealing with even greater obstacles, especially when it came to something as essential as transportation and getting to doctor’s appointments. I felt a deep passion to give back and to support those who were in even tougher situations than mine. That desire to help is what inspired me to create Blindspot Express, a way to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Program
At Blindspot Express, everything I do centers around making mobility possible for those who need it most and inviting others to be part of that mission. Here’s an overview of what I offer and how you can get involved:
The heart of Blindspot Express is my door-to-door transportation program for blind and visually impaired individuals who need to get to medical appointments or hospital visits. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to rely on public transportation, especially when you can’t drive yourself. That’s why I offer free rides to help people stay on top of their health.
My services are available to anyone who is legally blind or has significant vision loss and doesn’t have a reliable way to get around. I mainly serve people in the Hinsdale area and nearby communities, focusing on medical-related travel. If you're visually impaired and need help getting to a health appointment, I'm here for you. I do this to help those who truly need it, especially when family or public transportation just isn’t an option.
Volunteer Drivers: I’m always looking for caring people to join my driving team. If you’ve got a valid license, a safe car, and a few hours to spare, you can help someone make it to an important appointment. Even just one ride a week can change someone’s life.
